Get ready, picture book lovers! Picture Book Land 2025 is set to begin streaming videos again around the summer holidays.
I recently had the wonderful opportunity to read three unique picture books at the broadcasting station. One was about food education and the importance of appreciating life’s sustenance. Another was a delightful story that truly sparks the imagination. And the third was a unique book that, in its own playful way, reminds even adults to “take it easy!” These books are truly brimming with personality.
Whether you prefer reading them yourself, having your family read to you, or enjoying them through a read-aloud, we encourage you to immerse yourselves freely in the world of picture books.
At Picture Book Land, you’ll be able to enjoy a wide variety of picture books, with readings by picture book authors themselves, as well as by announcers like us. The streams will be available for a limited time, but it will be fascinating to compare the different interpretations, as each Japanese voiceover artist brings their own unique expression to the stories.
We’re also planning some in-person events, so for all of you who adore picture books, please look forward to them! We’ll let you know as soon as the streaming begins.

International Recognition for Our Japanese Voiceover Work!
Last year, our read-aloud of Mariko Shinju’s “Mottainai Baasan no Obaachan” (Mottainai Grandma’s Grandma) from Kodansha, which was featured at this very event, received the Grand Prize at an international award ceremony! This month, we received the beautiful trophy and certificate.
This award truly belongs to everyone who collaborated and supported us. It’s a testament to our collective effort. I even had the opportunity to report this wonderful news and express my gratitude at our local Oyama Shrine.
As a Japanese narrator and Japanese voiceover artist, I’m committed to taking on new challenges and pushing boundaries. Your continued support would mean the world to me!
