Today, I had a wonderful remote live-directed recording session, connecting my professional home studio with a client in Germany.
What made this session incredibly special was that it was a repeat booking. The client highly valued our previous collaboration, and as a voice actor, there is no greater compliment than having a client return.
For this session, we connected via both audio and video lines. On the other side of the screen was a full production team, including the client, director, copywriter, and agency.
Fitting the script perfectly into the designated time constraints (the exact “time-sync”) is a baseline standard for any professional. However, during this session, we encountered a few lines that were challenging to fit into the strict timeframe. I listened closely to the team’s creative vision, and we collaboratively searched for the absolute best solution.
The copywriter suggested a brilliant approach—one that was completely new to me. Inspired by their idea, and to make that fantastic method a reality, I pitched a fresh, challenging performance style from my end as well.
The result? A fantastic final product that will truly entertain the audience, spark their empathy, and inspire them to take the next action.
Collaborating with the team, exchanging insights, and exploring new vocal approaches—while building a foundation of mutual trust and respect—makes the entire process incredibly creative and exhilarating.
Bringing the team’s passion and the brand’s message to life through my voice, and hitting that “perfect sweet spot” where our visions and timing aligned, brought me immense joy.
It made me think once again:
