Global Challenge, Local Pride: Our Double Nomination at the SOVAS Voice Arts Awards

Our Global Challenge

We have been actively working towards engaging in international business for the past three years, and one of our key initiatives is challenging international awards.

As globalization accelerates, opportunities to interact with people from overseas are increasing everywhere—in the workplace, with customers, in shops, or even in our neighborhoods. Having experienced a homestay in the U.S. during my school days, I truly enjoy connecting with people from other cultures, and I once dreamed of living abroad. Connecting with people globally through my work is incredibly stimulating and fun for me. Since these awards attract entrants from all over the world, participating allows us to connect with countless professionals through networking and exchange.

🏆 Corporate Video Nomination – Sharing Local Charm with the World

We are thrilled to announce that a corporate video produced by our company has received a nomination in the Corporate Video Narration category at the SOVAS Voice Arts Awards!

While we are delighted to be nominated as a company, our greatest joy comes from successfully showcasing the unique appeal of our local area to the world.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, local tourism in our region temporarily froze. Even major tourist destinations like the World Heritage site Gokayama and the spectacular Yuki-no-Otani saw few visitors. We heard the voices of local business owners lamenting the closure of charming shops. Though my own power is small, I seriously considered how I could contribute. This motivated me to use the power of voice and narration to promote the charm of our locality, Toyama, and Japan, aiming to revitalize tourism and encourage international visitors to take an interest in our country.

The nominated work introduces a new local specialty from Unazuki Onsen, the gateway to Toyama Prefecture’s remote Kurobe Gorge. Unazuki is famous for its hot springs. The warm “Yuzu bath” is so relaxing, isn’t it? Interestingly, we discovered that eels raised in this Yuzu-infused hot water (called “Yu-Yu Unagi”) become exceptionally delicious—the process removes excess fat, resulting in a delightfully fluffy and tender texture. Our hope is that through this international award, the unique appeal of Yu-Yu Unagi will spread globally, attracting more people to discover Toyama and visit.

🏆Audiobook Nomination – A Journey Through Languages

Furthermore, I received a second nomination in the Audiobook category. This is now my third nomination in this category at the SOVAS Voice Arts Awards.

Last year, a Japanese work received the highest honor, the Grand Prize—a truly distinguished honor for me. This year, the nominated work is the American title, “Bella the Fluffy Magical Girl’s Great Birthday Adventure,” entered by the author herself. I provided the Japanese narration for this title.

This is a multi-language project, available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and Japanese, designed to be enjoyed by children around the world. The aim of the production is to let many people enjoy the authentic languages of different countries and spark their interest in the world through this charming and imaginative work. It is truly a global collaboration, involving narrators, illustrators, sound engineers, interpreters, and musicians from many countries. We hope you will enjoy it as a virtual trip around the world!
