As the cherry blossoms bloom, an enchanting event celebrating kimono was held. Organized by Kimono Yorozuya Kanontei, a lovely shop based in Toyama, this year marked my second time as the host of the event.
The idea behind this gathering is simple yet profound—kimono should not remain tucked away in a wardrobe. They are meant to be worn, appreciated, and enjoyed in various ways. One participant showcased a unique style by adding lace accents to the sleeves of a kimono inherited from her mother, breathing new life into the cherished garment.
Kimono offer endless possibilities for personalization, from the obi and obijime to the obiage and layered collars. This event truly celebrated the charm and versatility of kimono, creating a space to learn and rediscover their beauty.
Kimono Yorozuya Kanontei also hosts seasonal workshops, kimono dressing classes, and delightful experiences like strolling through the town in kimono while capturing beautiful photos. It’s a wonderful place to explore the joy of wearing kimono.
Why not embrace the natural beauty of Toyama and discover the charm of kimono for yourself?
I’m deeply grateful to have received such wonderful feedback regarding my role as a host, shared by a guest at an event organized by Kimono Yorozuya Kanontei. It’s truly encouraging and motivates me even more. Moving forward, I will continue striving to create a space where everyone can feel comfortable and thoroughly enjoy themselves.
Thank you so much for your kind words!
